Professional hot wax chain treatment for road, MTB, and commuter bikes. Cleaner, faster, longer-lasting than any lube.
Wax penetrates the chain's inner link plates and pins, the actual friction points. Wet lube sits on the outside and attracts grit that grinds your drivetrain away.
A waxed chain is dry to the touch and picks up almost no road grime. Your cassette, chainrings, and jockey wheels last significantly longer.
Chains last 2–3× longer when waxed, and your cassette and chainrings last proportionally too. One wax job easily pays for itself in drivetrain longevity.
All old lube and contamination removed with a white spirits/mineral turps soak. No shortcuts.
Methylated spirits rinse removes any remaining residue. Chain must be spotless before wax.
Immersed in molten paraffin wax at the right temp in a slow cooker so it penetrates every inner link.
Dried, checked, and returned. Install and ride, no cure time needed.
Top-up pricing applies only to chains that have been properly waxed before and are in clean condition. If I determine a chain is heavily contaminated or has been exposed to wet lube, a full strip will be required at $20. I will let you know before proceeding.
For the full bike service, a name-brand quick link (KMC, Shimano, or SRAM) is required to refit your chain. The exact brand and price will be confirmed with you before your booking is finalised. Quick links are covered by manufacturer warranty. To make a warranty claim you will need to go through my supplier, 99 Bikes. A receipt will be provided after your second visit.
Meet me at the velodrome, drop off your chain, or drop off your whole bike for the full service.
Fill in the form and I will confirm your booking and any additional costs before we proceed.
